Beechdale Longlife Learning Centre

Frank F Harrison Community Association head office is based at Beechdale Lifelong Learning Centre. The centre has been providing room hire facilities since the centre opened in 1998. The centre provides programmes to adults and young people including leisure courses, Youth Provision activities are funded from The National Lottery Community Fund, Children In Need & Longhurst Housing Group. Within the Beechdale Lifelong Learning Centre we also have the Beeches Day Nursery within our centre.

The Beechdale 

Sewing Club - Mon

Day and Time: Monday 9:45am - 11:45am
Course Cost: ÂŁ3.00 Per Session

Entry Requirements: Open to anyone in Walsall

This class will teach you a wide range of sewing techniques, making clothing, embroidery and soft furnishings in an informal setting with friendly staff.

Come along and enjoy a friendly, informal setting with the chance to make friends with sewing activities each session.

Indoor Bowls - Mon & Thu

Frank F Harrison Bowling Club

Indoor Bowls suitable for anyone who wants to keep fit and healthy and learn a new skill.

Practice sessions as well as league matches for those adults who enjoy competitive indoor bowling.

  • Make new friends and socialise through meeting other parents and children
  • Have a healthy drink and snack

Social Activity Club - Fri

This is a weekly club, ideal for anyone who wants to try different social activities, build confidence and make new friends. Activities include simple arts and crafts, games, quizzes, karaoke, puzzles, pool and much more.

Sat Selection Youth Club (8-16 Yrs) - Sat

Day and Time: Saturday 10:15am - 12:45pm

For: 8 - 16 Year Olds
Cost: 20p Per Session

This is an open access breakfast youth club which incorporates youth centre activities including Xbox. PlayStation, Nintendo, Pool Table, Table Tennis, Arts and Crafts and also some specialist sports sessions. Do not worry if sports are not your favourite hobby because various youth activities are still on throughout the session.

The youth club uses consultations and discussions with the young people so that staff can organise activities into a six week programme which meets the needs of the young people.

The youth club has two separate rooms one used as the main youth activity room and a sports hall. The youth club room has sofa's for relaxing as well as tables and chairs for completing project work, It has youth club equipment such as Pool Table, Table Tennis, Graffiti Board, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, TV and Music player system that can be used.
The young people have a fully functional kitchen when completing cooking activities and has a Tuck Shop where the profits are put back into the youth club.

The Sports Hall is used for various sports and recreational activities such as, Dance, Football, Cricket, Badminton and Fitness sessions.

FAMED Childrens Dance Academy - Sat

Give your children a healthy body and mind by following our programme of activities in our fun educational classes.

Classes are available in Ballet, Tap, Freestyle, Acrobatic Dance, Speech & Drama and Musical Theatre.

Hive Uniform Box - a school uniform recycling shop

We stock a wide variety of pre-loved items including white shirts, polo shirts, grey and black trousers, skirts, pinafores, coats, and PE kits. We have sweatshirts and cardigans many with logos for local primary and senior schools (Beacon, New Invention, Woodlands and Abbey) at bargain prices. Come along and take a look at what’s on offer!

Community Library - Mon - Thu & Sat

This is a weekly session to promote physical and mental health and well-being. It is suitable for everyone, including those with health conditions and disabilities. Specialising in falls prevention, strength and balance, for all abilities and improving movement and mobility.

Room HIRE

We currently offer a room hire facility at 2 of our current locations, perfect for Meetings, Training, Conferences and Group Activities, and depending upon the intended use, can cater up to a capacity of 80 people, where the rooms can be setup in advance to suit your preferred layout.
